Inaugurated on 8 June 2005, Pera Museum is a private museum founded by Suna and Inan Kırac Foundation with the aim of offering a broad range of high-quality culture and art services. Known as the Bristol Hotel until recently, the historical building was bought by the foundation and underwent a complete restoration by architect Sinan Genim.
Among three principle section of the museum are as follows: the first floor has the private collections of Suna and Inan Kırac Foundation. On the second floor; there is the unique collection of portraits of Ottoman sultans made by European orientalist. On the third, fourth and fifth floors, are the multi-purpose display rooms and a museum shop and the Pera Cafe on the main floor. The audio and visual events and the varied content of its display rooms offer a cultural service to public.
