This mosque, near the Spice Bazaar in İstanbul, has only one minaret.There are rows of shops surrounding it.It is set on a high platform.Rüstem Pasha Mosque presents a very beautiful appearance in the middle of one of the city’s most active trade districts.

The Mosque was constructed in 1561 by the great architect Mimar Sinan, commissioned by Rustem Pasha, who was not only the Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent’s Grand Vezir but also his son-in-law.

The Rüstem Pasha Mosque was chosen as ‘’Europe’s most beautiful mosque’’ by Newsweek Magazine.

The Mosque is renowned for the extraordinarily beautiful tiles with which it is covered.The richest collection of tiles can be found on the walls of this mosque and are reminiscent of a flower garden.
